7 Months Today

My sweet little Ruby Booby is 7 months today.  I can't believe how fast time flies. One day I was pregnant and the next thing you know i'm holding a fidgety baby in my arms.  She is happy all the time, she sleeps and eats like a champ and she already knows how to make us laugh.

Is It Morally Wrong To...

Is buying my daughter outfits with Cats on them morally wrong? Am I dooming her to a life time of wild frizzy hair, loneliness, furniture with layers of cat hair, the constant smell of Kitty litter, the need to take in every stray cat, cat sweaters, cat posters, so many pillows on your bed that you can't even see the bed,  A collection of cat jewelry and cat socks, never having a pair of clothing that isn't covered in hair, a cat cemetery in the back yard, neighbor kids leaving flaming bags of pooh on her front porch? Will my daughter become the social stigma known only as The Crazy Cat Lady? I guess time will only tell...

I should probably resist the urge to buy cat clothes for a little while.

2011

Blogging is getting harder and harder these days for me.  No real reason but it just is.  I find myself thinking of different things I could blog about at random times of the day but usually I am no where near a computer and I'd prefer to continue playing with Ruby.  But I thought I would recap for everyone what happened this year in the Ellgen/Elmer household ( i added Elmer seeing we were and still are living with my parents).

January- I was 5 months pregnant with Ruby and super nauseous and throwing up all the time. I celebrated my 23rd birthday and my mom bought me a german chocolate cake for my birthday cake because she new it was Bryce's favorite.  Ah hello it's my birthday not Bryce's.  She is always favoring him over me.

February- 6 months pregnant and working at my dad's doctor's office in the billing department.  I don't remember exactly what we did for Valentines day but I am sure it involved some form of fast food and a redbox movie. We are such hopeless romantics. also i was still super nauseous and throwing up.

March- Not much to be said for march.  I think I had to go take a glucose blood test to make sure i wasn't diabetic during my pregnancy.  Turns out after the 3 hour process in which i was super nauseous and keeping my self from throwing up that i wasn't diabetic after all.  Who makes a pregnant lady fast for a whole meal. It's insane.

April- I think i was beginning the nesting portion of my pregnancy since all i wanted to do was set up Ruby's crib and make quilts. Still a little nauseous but no longer throwing up.

May- went and took my Medical Coding Final Exam.  Worst experience of my life.  The test was a 5 hour long test and 15 minutes into it i had to run to the bathroom and while i was going to the bathroom proceeded to throw up all over the floor.  I tried to clean up as much and covered the floor with lots of toilet paper.  Went back to my seat feeling nauseous and miserable like someone had turned up the heat and finished the test. best part of the story i ended up not passing by 1%.  I will be retaking it sometime this year.

June- Celebrated my Gramps 94th birthday. and oh yeah I gave birth to little miss Ruby Mae Ellgen.  I had a super easy delivery and an even faster recovery. Ruby was healthy and absolutely beautiful.

July- stayed home and transitioned into motherhood.  No sun light for this gal.

August- had a fun Elmer family reunion in Utah. Blessed Ruby. And went wakeboarding. Getting into a swimsuit was not the highlight of this past year but i'm going to be real honest it's never a highlight of any year of my life. Also we packed up the car and headed down to Colorado. Flew to Kansas and drove on over to Nauvoo to see Bryce's brother Justin get married. Then spent sometime with the Ellgen clan.

September- Started Bryce's first of three internships in Salt Lake City.  I also started my no carbs for the rest of the year adventure.

October- Ruby is growing by the minute and I relearn how to excersize and have fun doing it. Ruby was a kitty cat for Halloween.

November- Bryce is starting to get real sick of the many soups I am making.  I continue on my no carbs and am watching a lot of law and order.  Ruby decides she wants to sit up by herself. Thanksgiving was spent with the Ellgen's and I was able to get through Thanksgiving dinner unscathed by carbs.  I proud moment.

December- Bryce is finished with his first internship and so we pack up and head back to Spokane.  Ruby is reunited with her cousin Liv and I was reunited with my family.  We had a great christmas.  I got my first ever San Francisco Giants ball cap and i am pretty sure it was Bryce's proudest moment in our marriage. Bryce received tickets to go see the myth busters on tour from yours truly.  And Ruby got lots and lots of toys and clothes.

A long post i know but the best part of this whole year was our sweet baby burrito Ruby and becoming a little family.  She is the best decision Bryce and I made this whole year. I hope all of you had a great 2011 and that you will have an even more adventurous 2012.
