8 Months and not slowing down

I feel like I just wrote about Ruby turning 7 months and now she is already 8 months.
What can I say about my growing baby.
Crawling
climbing
clapping
teething
screeching
happy
and
.
.
.
my favorite baby in the whole wide world.

I think these two are more like sisters than cousins.

My Little Snow Bunny and Other Random Stuff

We got some snow a couple weeks ago here in Spokane and we couldn't resist the urge to stuff our little chubby baby into a pink snow suit and enjoy the snow.

Ruby with Poppy the Abominable Snow Man

Playing in the snow is pretty tiring for a little girl

I'm really bummed I have some really cute video's of Ruby saying momma and sledding with Poppy. So for now this is all I have to show for.   Things are going great with the Ellgens I'm just trying to survive another pregnancy but luckily I am more prepared this time than last.  I haven't thrown up once... I am keeping my fingers crossed that I won't this whole pregnancy.

7 Months Today

My sweet little Ruby Booby is 7 months today.  I can't believe how fast time flies. One day I was pregnant and the next thing you know i'm holding a fidgety baby in my arms.  She is happy all the time, she sleeps and eats like a champ and she already knows how to make us laugh.

Is It Morally Wrong To...

Is buying my daughter outfits with Cats on them morally wrong? Am I dooming her to a life time of wild frizzy hair, loneliness, furniture with layers of cat hair, the constant smell of Kitty litter, the need to take in every stray cat, cat sweaters, cat posters, so many pillows on your bed that you can't even see the bed,  A collection of cat jewelry and cat socks, never having a pair of clothing that isn't covered in hair, a cat cemetery in the back yard, neighbor kids leaving flaming bags of pooh on her front porch? Will my daughter become the social stigma known only as The Crazy Cat Lady? I guess time will only tell...

I should probably resist the urge to buy cat clothes for a little while.

2011

Blogging is getting harder and harder these days for me.  No real reason but it just is.  I find myself thinking of different things I could blog about at random times of the day but usually I am no where near a computer and I'd prefer to continue playing with Ruby.  But I thought I would recap for everyone what happened this year in the Ellgen/Elmer household ( i added Elmer seeing we were and still are living with my parents).

January- I was 5 months pregnant with Ruby and super nauseous and throwing up all the time. I celebrated my 23rd birthday and my mom bought me a german chocolate cake for my birthday cake because she new it was Bryce's favorite.  Ah hello it's my birthday not Bryce's.  She is always favoring him over me.

February- 6 months pregnant and working at my dad's doctor's office in the billing department.  I don't remember exactly what we did for Valentines day but I am sure it involved some form of fast food and a redbox movie. We are such hopeless romantics. also i was still super nauseous and throwing up.

March- Not much to be said for march.  I think I had to go take a glucose blood test to make sure i wasn't diabetic during my pregnancy.  Turns out after the 3 hour process in which i was super nauseous and keeping my self from throwing up that i wasn't diabetic after all.  Who makes a pregnant lady fast for a whole meal. It's insane.

April- I think i was beginning the nesting portion of my pregnancy since all i wanted to do was set up Ruby's crib and make quilts. Still a little nauseous but no longer throwing up.

May- went and took my Medical Coding Final Exam.  Worst experience of my life.  The test was a 5 hour long test and 15 minutes into it i had to run to the bathroom and while i was going to the bathroom proceeded to throw up all over the floor.  I tried to clean up as much and covered the floor with lots of toilet paper.  Went back to my seat feeling nauseous and miserable like someone had turned up the heat and finished the test. best part of the story i ended up not passing by 1%.  I will be retaking it sometime this year.

June- Celebrated my Gramps 94th birthday. and oh yeah I gave birth to little miss Ruby Mae Ellgen.  I had a super easy delivery and an even faster recovery. Ruby was healthy and absolutely beautiful.

July- stayed home and transitioned into motherhood.  No sun light for this gal.

August- had a fun Elmer family reunion in Utah. Blessed Ruby. And went wakeboarding. Getting into a swimsuit was not the highlight of this past year but i'm going to be real honest it's never a highlight of any year of my life. Also we packed up the car and headed down to Colorado. Flew to Kansas and drove on over to Nauvoo to see Bryce's brother Justin get married. Then spent sometime with the Ellgen clan.

September- Started Bryce's first of three internships in Salt Lake City.  I also started my no carbs for the rest of the year adventure.

October- Ruby is growing by the minute and I relearn how to excersize and have fun doing it. Ruby was a kitty cat for Halloween.

November- Bryce is starting to get real sick of the many soups I am making.  I continue on my no carbs and am watching a lot of law and order.  Ruby decides she wants to sit up by herself. Thanksgiving was spent with the Ellgen's and I was able to get through Thanksgiving dinner unscathed by carbs.  I proud moment.

December- Bryce is finished with his first internship and so we pack up and head back to Spokane.  Ruby is reunited with her cousin Liv and I was reunited with my family.  We had a great christmas.  I got my first ever San Francisco Giants ball cap and i am pretty sure it was Bryce's proudest moment in our marriage. Bryce received tickets to go see the myth busters on tour from yours truly.  And Ruby got lots and lots of toys and clothes.

A long post i know but the best part of this whole year was our sweet baby burrito Ruby and becoming a little family.  She is the best decision Bryce and I made this whole year. I hope all of you had a great 2011 and that you will have an even more adventurous 2012.

Your A Mean One Mr. Grinch...

So we finished our little stint in Salt Lake and made our way over to Craig Colorado to spend a little time with Bryce's family.  The internship finished December 2nd which was a friday and i told my mom that we were going to go visit Bryce's family for a week and wouldn't be home tell the next saturday.  But I was lying.  We were only going to stay tell tuesday.  So instead of telling my mom the change of plans i decided to surprise my family by coming home early without any body knowing.  Well it took two days to get back to good ol' Spokane so we got to my parents house around 4 on wednesday. I was so excited to get home that when Bryce told me he had to pee really bad i told him to hold it and that i wasn't pulling over. So Bryce had to hold it for 90 miles or so.  So we arrived at my parents house to discover that neither of my parents were home. Brisa and Liv were the only ones there.  We got to talking and i got it in my head to play a really cruel joke on my mom.  So i called my mom up and told her that we wouldn't be able to come home the time that she thought we would and that instead we would be staying an extra few days.  My mom was at costco when she got my call and was super sad and disappointed that we weren't going to be there. I told here that we had gotten roped into staying with the Ellgen's for a nephews birthday.  Anyways after i called, Brisa got a phone call from my mom.  My mom told her that we had extended our visit with the Ellgen's and wouldn't be coming tell the following saturday.  Brisa said my mom sounded like she was crying.  I immediately regretted my decision to play this prank.  so we waited for forever tell my mom got home.  Finally when my mom walked through the door and saw us standing there she called me a mean daughter and was bawling.  She said that was such a terrible thing for me to do and i just replied back that it was a christmas miracle. It was a total grinch thing to do but it was a priceless memory i will have for the rest of my life. The day i pulled a fast one over my mom.  I probably won't be getting any present's this year but it was worth it.  My dad said that my mom called him crying cause we weren't coming tell later and he thought he was going to find her in the bathroom with her wrists slit that was how sad she was.  he chuckled on and off the rest of the night thinking about what we had done.
So yeah we are back in Spokane and loving every minute of it.  But before we got back we spent time with Bryce's parents and kicked a little butt playing mexican train.  Below are some pictures of Rubster at Grandma and Grandpa Ellgen's house. I would like to point out Rubys white pants that make her look like a male gymnast. that is all for the moment.

Christmas Lights on Temple Square

So Yesterday night we thought it would be a good idea to go see the lights on temple square before we left for good this saturday.  BIG MISTAKE! lets just say this probably won't be a family tradition of ours.  Don't get me wrong the lights were beautiful and everything was great.  It was more that Ruby absolutely hated every minute of it. I think i have a grinch on my hands. The moment we got there she immediately started crying and fussing which if you know her isn't her at all.  Then out of no where her nose starts running like crazy and it started making it really hard for her to breath.  She started blowing huge snot bubbles which i thought was funny but she did not.  So we booked it out of there after being there for maybe 15 minutes.  Needless to say we didn't get to many pics.  When we got home we suctioned out her nose which was pretty gross and gave her a bottle.  After she finished her bottle, she was sitting on bryce's lap when she spit up this big glob of snot! it just plopped onto Bryce's arm it was disgusting.  But she was snot free the rest of the night and she was a happy girl after that.

I am pointing at the snot bubble take a closer look!

Even after that little fiasco I am still super excited about going home to Spokane for christmas and showing Bryce how the Elmer's have christmas! I told him to get ready for a lot of manheim steamroller and matching pajamas.
